John Amaya

John Amaya joined Third Age Media when it launched its web portal in 2015 and has led the digital coverage of major news events such as the downing of MH17, the Christchurch mosque shootings, the Sino-US Trade War, 2016 US Presidential Election, and Goodbye, NAFTA – Hello, USMCA.  A New Jersey resident, John, is also an experienced reporter and filmmaker who worked for many years at the US Open tennis and alpine resorts to produce creative video content.

Before getting promoted to Editor-in-Chief last year, John was managing sub-editorial stints. He holds a masters degree in Economics from New Jersey City University.

Danielle Ward

Danielle is a sub-editor of Third Age Media's online portal. She began her journalism career with HuffPost in 2016, after completing multiple internships with news agencies across the country and a journalism degree at the Rutgers School of Communication and Information. During her days at HuffPost, she covered breaking news, federal and state elections, police siege operations, and the stock market.

Johnson Buckley

Johnson is a Finance column lead at Third Age Media. Before joining the group, he was a contributor to Planet Money by NPR and weekly column writer at New York Times Magazine. His work has won him several major awards including Peabody. One of his articles was also nominated for top ten works of journalism of the decade.

Rufus Ledbetter

Rufus is leading the Politics column at Third Age Media. Currently, he is covering the 2020 presidential campaign. He joined the group in 2015.

After joining, his major stint was the 2016 presidential election; then he worked for two years as a congressional correspondent before shifting back to the campaign trail.

Before that, Rufus worked as a statehouse reporter in California as well as Pennsylvania. He graduated from Fordham.

Kelly Hitchcock

Kelly Hitchcock is leading the Legal column at Third Age Media. She has covered the Supreme Court, elections, and civil cases since 2002 for major US publications such as National Journal, The Wall Street Journal, and Roll Call. Her major stories include the Pregnancy Centers and Abortion, the Internet Sales Tax, the Human Rights Violation, immigration, and many others. She is a Journalism graduate from American University in Washington, D.C., and a Philadelphia native.

Carolynn Charles

Carolynn is a senior business editor leading the Entrepreneurship column at Third Age Media. In this role, she assigns and edits business and financial stories, primarily focusing on entrepreneurship. Her major assignment is coverage of the 2008 financial crisis, among other big stories. Carolynn studied economics at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, earning a degree in international public policy.
